Competitive advantages of Seville
Seville is the city of reference in southern Europe, a vibrant and dynamic city that combines tradition and modernity. The city stands out in fields such as technological innovation, advanced services and the aeronautical and aerospace industry, as well as being a world-renowned tourist and cultural destination and boasting an exceptional quality of life.
1
Science and Technology Park and Technology District
The Cartuja STP is the largest technological park in Spain, thanks to its 567 companies and 29,538 workers, with a turnover of 4,850 million euros. In the last year, turnover grew by 38% and employment by 27%. It represents 9.7% of Seville's GDP and 2.36% of Andalusia's GDP.
It currently houses 193 research groups, 77 startups and more than 1,000 R&D&I projects. It is only a 10-minute walk from the city center and 20 minutes from the airport and a high-speed rail connection, and has free spaces where new activities can be implemented.
In collaboration with Iberdrola Inmobiliaria, the new El Higuerón Norte Technology District is also under development, which will soon have 2,500 housing units -especially family-oriented, with 40% affordable housing-, 2,000 office spaces and a Data Center of more than 100,000 m², as well as a 200-place hotel, green areas, public facilities and 30,000 m² of commercial space.
2
Aeronautical capital of Southern Europe
Seville has become, together with Toulouse and Hamburg, the European aeronautical capital of reference. The city is immersed in the creation of the Aerospace District next to Seville Airport, in the areas of San Nicolás and Santa Bárbara: an urban transformation project that will boost the technological, economic and social growth of the city and which has already attracted the interest of important multinationals in the aerospace sector. This new neighborhood, which will be the largest in the city, will have up to 24,000 housing units and 3.2 million m² of productive uses.
3
High availability of executive and corporate housing
Seville is immersed in a major real estate project, thanks to public-private collaboration. Currently, the city government already has projects underway for the construction of around 15,000 homes, of which 4,500 will be subsidized (affordable) housing and some 10,500 will be free market housing, and this number will continue to grow in the future.
4
Labor and housing costs
Labor and housing costs in Seville are much lower than in other large European capitals, which makes it an extraordinarily attractive city for the establishment of new companies.
5
Economic and administrative capital of Andalusia
Seville is the economic and business capital of the autonomous community of Andalusia, as well as its administrative capital, being home to the presidency of the regional government and to most central offices of the Andalusian administration governing bodies and agencies.
6
Extraordinary human talent
Thanks to the 5 universities in our city (3 public and 2 private), as well as various affiliated centers, thousands of professionals in different disciplines are trained in Seville every year. Of particular importance is the wide range of STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) university degrees, which potentially provide human resources with high added value for the sectors that have been identified as preferential for the city.
7
International and bilingual schools
The city and its immediate surroundings have an educational offer of exceptional quality and variety, at all educational levels. There are bilingual and multilingual schools (in English, French and German) and international schools, which offer the possibility of taking the International Baccalaureate (IB).
8
Excellent connectivity
Seville is a first class logistics and communications hub. Seville airport has 78 national and international destinations thanks to the 24 airlines that operate there; in 2023 it grew by 19%, with more than 8 million passengers per year. The AVE high-speed train connects with Madrid or Malaga in less than 3 hours and its commercial port, the only inland port in Spain, currently handles some 4 million tons per year. All this together with a network of highways that connect the city with the rest of the country.
9
Quality of life
Seville offers an unparalleled quality of life for managers and workers alike. The city boasts a wide range of services and leisure options, and has an enviable gastronomy and cultural offer.
10
Support in administrative procedures
The Seville City Council, in close collaboration with the Junta de Andalucía, is committed to facilitating all the procedures so that any businessman or investor can set up in the city as quickly, safely and easily as possible.
