The mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, presided over the presentation yesterday at City Hall of the sixth edition of the Mining and Minerals Hall (MMH 2026), one of the leading international gatherings of the mining industry, which will be held at FIBES from October 20 to 22.

This edition will feature record numbers: 332 exhibitors—29% more than in 2024—and representation from 26 countries, in addition to Spain, filling the entire exhibition space at FIBES.

Industry is one of the strategic sectors that Seville is focusing on to drive its economic development and attract new investment. As part of this strategy, mining and its supporting industries represent a significant opportunity to generate business activity, technological innovation, and skilled jobs.

For Seville, it is particularly important not only to host major international conferences such as the MMH, but also to attract the corporate headquarters, decision-making centers, and research and innovation centers of major companies in the mining sector.

Our goal is for Seville to be a city where companies not only come together to do business, but also decide to set up shop, invest, and develop their future projects.

Also participating in the presentation were Jorge Paradela, Regional Minister of Universities, Industry, Energy, and Innovation for the Regional Government of Andalusia; Enrique Delgado, president of AMINER; Fernando Araúz de Robles, curator of the MMH; and Pablo Fernández Vila, director general of Energy Planning and Mines for the Regional Government of Galicia, this year’s guest region.

At Sevilla Open for Business, we continue to work to position our city as a top destination for industrial investment, talent, and innovation, strengthening its role as a leading business hub in Southern Europe.
