This is great news for the city's technology business sector, as the Cube is one of the four technology-based entrepreneurship hubs that Telefónica has in Andalusia".
The City Council of Seville, in collaboration with Telefónica, will promote El Cubo, which will have direct municipal participation. Thus, the Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, held a meeting this morning with the president of Telefónica, José María Álvarez-Pallete, at the company's headquarters in the Telefónica District.
In this regard, the mayor of Seville said that "during the meeting with Alvarez-Pallete I have been able to explain that Seville is a city with a great potential for attraction thanks to tourism, culture, gastronomy, leisure and climate, among other issues". He also stressed that "the city also has, among other factors, the Cartuja Science and Technology Park, with space available for technology and knowledge projects that want to establish themselves in the city".
"Forty-two percent of the 557 companies present in the PCT Cartuja carry out innovative activities, and there are currently 753 R&D&I projects underway. For all these reasons, I have made the services of the Sevilla Open for Business office available to Álvarez-Pallete for any project that the telecommunications company might consider developing in the city," added Sanz.
Likewise, José Luis Sanz, stated that "we have agreed on the intention to give a boost to Telefónica's El Cubo project, which will have the direct participation of the City Council of Seville".
Finally, the mayor added that "this is great news for the technology business sector of the city, as the Cube is one of the four technology-based entrepreneurship hubs that Telefónica has in Andalusia, which serves to advise and accelerate innovative entrepreneurship projects developed in Seville. The joint commitment of the Regional Government of Andalusia, the City Council of Seville and Telefónica in this project will undoubtedly result in significant benefits that will translate into quality employment for the city of Seville.
