With the aim of analyzing the investment efforts of the public administrations and their impact on the development of Seville, Foro Gaesco held a conference entitled "The impulse of the Seville City Council in the new horizon of the city". The event brought together prominent leaders and experts, including the Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, and representatives from Urban Planning, public companies such as Emvisesa, and the private sector.

The Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, inaugurated the conference by highlighting the strategic actions being promoted by the City Council to make Seville a global benchmark as a place to live, work, visit and invest. However, he stressed the need to face important challenges such as:

  • Mobility: Progress on Line 3 of the metro thanks to the Junta de Andalucía, while key projects such as the SE-40 crossing of the Guadalquivir and the Santa Justa railway connection with the airport are still pending from the central government.
  • Infrastructure: Projects such as the Tramibus, the SE-35, new bike lanes, strategic parking and urban regeneration are underway, along with initiatives to improve connections between neighborhoods and ensure a more sustainable and accessible city.
  • Housing: Between 2024 and 2026, Emvisesa plans to build 1,403 housing units, and in 2027 it expects to reach a load of 15,000 units under construction.

During the first panel, the director of Sevilla Open for Business, Manuel Parejo, and the director of Savills in Andalusia, José Félix Pérez-Peña, analyzed the economic outlook for Seville. Among the main conclusions:

  • Investment attraction: Sevilla Open for Business has attended 40 projects in key sectors such as technology and industry, with special interest in spaces in the PCT Cartuja and the Port of Seville.
  • Talent retention: Technology sectors are helping to attract talent and position Seville as a competitive city in the global labor market.
  • Housing and offices: Communicating the housing supply and improving the office and logistics market are key to attracting both residents and companies.
  • Tourism: Strengthening Seville's hotel brand and improving airport connections are essential for opening up new international tourism markets.

With events such as this one, Foro Gaesco reaffirmed its commitment to the progress of Seville, opening spaces for dialogue and cooperation to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities that will define the city's horizon.
