The Mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz, has indicated that this project "is also a reality thanks to the implementation of the Sevilla Acelera office, which we created in the Municipal Urban Planning Management to promote business projects of this type and streamline all administrative, urban and bureaucratic procedures. In the past, many business projects like this one, many ideas and investments in the city of Seville went down the drain. Today that is over.
The mayor pointed out that "this initiative reflects all the objectives of this City Council: that Seville has to be, not only a city to visit or to live, but also has to be a city to work and to invest. For that Seville had to become a much more attractive city for investment and a much more competitive city.
Sanz said that "today we present an investment project of 4 million euros to implement this plan of entrepreneurship and audiovisual training in the Singer ship. But we are not only launching an entrepreneurship project that will generate employment and contribute to the economic growth of the city of Seville, but also recovering a historic building in the city of Seville".
In this regard, the mayor pointed out that it is "a building that is part of the industrial heritage that is once again being enhanced to host this audiovisual entrepreneurship and training pact".
Sanz thanked the work done by the Andalucía Film Commission Seville and stressed that Seville, since 2022, has received 817 filming requests, which makes the capital an international set. In addition, he stressed, "the talent that houses the city thanks to its university potential, with five universities and more than 80,000 students, which also makes us the capital of talent".
According to Sanz, "Seville has the obligation and the objective of retaining this talent and attracting it from abroad thanks to the quality of life offered by the city and the fact that it is one of the capitals with the best connectivity in Europe".
The mayor has indicated that "today a historic industrial building is once again given value thanks to a key business project for the Sevillian economy and for the audiovisual sector in Andalusia, as we have recently seen at the Seville Film Festival, demonstrating that there is still much growth ahead for the city of Seville".
José Luis Sanz also highlighted "the investment, political and personal effort being made by the Junta Andalucía and its president, Juanma Moreno, in the city of Seville. I want to thank the Minister of the Presidency, that investment effort of 4 million euros that today come to the city of Seville and that personal effort that he has put so that this project is now a reality".
In this line, Sanz has indicated that "today we do not present any model as did others who were specialists in selling a lot of smoke and present many models. This project will be approved today by the Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucía and will be a reality for the city of Seville". A project that has an expected completion period of 18 months.
According to Sanz "thanks to the support of the Board in Seville, this city will continue to generate employment and wealth and will continue to grow from the economic point of view".
Sanz concluded by recalling that Seville is the economic capital of Andalusia, the capital with the highest per capita income in the region and the most exporting capital of Andalusia, with more than 8,900 million euros, of which 2,200 million come from the aerospace sector. Thus highlighting that Seville is also the aerospace capital of Europe along with Toulouse and Hamburg and with projects such as the one that has been approved in the Singer ship, Seville must also be the digital capital of southern Spain.
